La transformación digital ha modificado profundamente los procesos educativos, laborales, sociales e institucionales, generando nuevas demandas de competencias para desenvolverse en entornos tecnológicos complejos. En este contexto, la alfabetización digital se ha consolidado como una competencia fundamental para acceder, comprender, evaluar, crear y comunicar información mediante tecnologías digitales de manera segura, crítica y responsable. Se analiza la evolución conceptual de la alfabetización digital, sus principales dimensiones, su relación con la inteligencia artificial y los desafíos asociados al uso de tecnologías digitales. Asimismo, se examina su contribución a la inclusión social, la reducción de brechas digitales, la empleabilidad y el desarrollo sostenible. Se destaca que el aprovechamiento efectivo de las tecnologías no depende únicamente del acceso a herramientas digitales, sino también de la capacidad de las personas para interpretar información, ejercer pensamiento crítico y tomar decisiones fundamentadas. La alfabetización digital constituye un componente estratégico para fortalecer la inclusión digital y promover una transformación tecnológica inclusiva.
