Objective: To determine the level of knowledge about breast cancer preventive practices in adolescents from the population center of Vaquería, Tumbes, during 2024. Material and Methods: A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted. The simple consisted of 80 adolescent girls selected through non-probabilistic sampling. A validated and reliable structured questionnaire was applied to assess general knowledge and preventive practices. Data were processed using statistical software and presented in frequencies and percentages. Results: A total of 65% of participants demonstrated a low level of knowledge regarding breast cancer preventive practices, 25% showed a moderate level, and only 10% achieved a high level. Furthermore, there was limited familiarity with breast self-examination and few sources of information about the disease. Conclusion: There is a significant déficit in knowledge about breast cancer prevention among the adolescent population studied. It is recommended to implement school-based educational programs focused on health promotion and primary prevention.
