Abstract

The case of a 7-year-old male pediatric patient is presented, who comes to the laboratory accompanied by his mother due to intense itching in the perianal region, predominantly at night, irritability, sleep disturbances, and occasional episodes of mild abdominal pain. As epidemiological background, the mother reports active school attendance, considered a factor associated with the transmission of enterobiasis.

For the parasitological study, the Graham method or transparent adhesive tape test (patch) was performed in the morning, before the patient's personal hygiene. The obtained sample was placed on a microscope slide and observed directly under an optical microscope without additional staining.
