Participación de las mujeres en la industria agroalimentaria: Una revisión

Las mujeres desempeñan un papel fundamental en la industria agroalimentaria, no sólo como consumidoras, sino también como proveedoras y procesadoras de alimentos. A pesar de su papel esencial, la literatura científica ha demostrado que enfrentan barreras para su participación plena y equitativa. El objetivo de esta revisión bibliografía es dar a conocer la participación las mujeres en la industria agroalimentaria, examinar las oportunidades y desafíos que enfrentan. Para este estudio, se seleccionaron revistas especializadas en alimentos y género, así como artículos científicos publicados en los últimos cinco años. El resultado de este estudio indica que las mujeres desempeñan un papel crucial en la preservación de la biodiversidad (economía circular) a través de la selección y conservación de semillas y la crianza de variedades de cultivos y animales (cosecha y postcosecha). Además, a menudo son las responsables de procesar, elaborar y preparar los alimentos, lo que tiene un impacto directo en la seguridad alimentaria y la nutrición de sus hogares.
