This study examined the relationship between postmaterialistic values and pro-environmental behavior in a sample of young adults using a non-experimental, correlational, cross-sectional design. Standardized scales were applied to measure both variables, and multiple linear regression was used to analyze the data. The results showed that individuals with higher postmaterialistic orientations exhibited higher levels of ecological behavior, even when controlling for variables such as age, educational level, and gender, with postmaterialism emerging as the most significant predictor. The findings support the idea that cultural values influence environmental practices and suggest that strengthening postmaterialistic values may be an effective way to promote sustainability. The use of a non-probabilistic sample and the inability to establish causality are recognized as limitations, so it is recommended that the research be expanded with longitudinal approaches and mixed methodologies.
